The 'Internationals Welcome' project of the LUH Career Service brings international students together with companies in the region. International students receive individual support for a successful entry into the German, regional labour market. Companies benefit from exclusive contact with highly qualified students, get to know their potential as a source of skilled workers, are supported in the further development of onboarding processes and can network.

The 'My Internship' programme starts in April 2025. We support and guide you through an internship at a company in the region. Take the opportunity to gain important practical experience and make contacts.

The project

A successful career start for international students in the German and regional labour market is associated with particular challenges, which the project 'Internationals Welcome – Paving the Way for International Students into the Regional Labour Market' aims to counteract. In correspondence with the framework programme, two central measures bring together international students and regional companies to promote a successful career start into the regional labour market:

  • 'My Internship', an internship programme supervised by the Career Service, strengthens the confidence and qualifications of international students for a successful transition into the German regional labour market.

  • 'Internationals Welcome', a network of regional companies and LUH, enables companies to access international talent and improves onboarding processes for international professionals.

Both the international students and the cooperating companies become multipliers in their own target group. The aim is to integrate both aspects of the project into the established counselling and service structures of the LUH Career Service after the end of the project period.

Co-financed by the European Union with funds from the 'European Social Fund Plus (ESF+)' and the state of Lower Saxony, programme area 'Stärker entwickelte Region (SER)'.
